Stump Grinding

Professional tree care across Aberdeenshire and North East Scotland.

After a tree has been felled or has fallen, the remaining stump can be difficult to remove. With suitable equipment and technique, our experienced team can clear tree stumps while taking care of the surrounding garden or site. Contact us to discuss access and the options for your property.

Plan your tree work

Tell us about your site, access and requirements. We will discuss the work and provide a free, no-obligation quote.

Agree the depth before work

  • Below Surface: 5–10 cm for standard clearance.
  • Planting Depth: approximately 30 cm for planting purposes.
  • Ground Out: complete removal of the stump and buttress roots, which may disturb the ground.

Lateral roots are excluded unless explicitly stated. Debris containment is managed where possible but is not guaranteed. Reinstatement is not included unless agreed in the work specification.

Access and underground services

Tell us about narrow access and disclose underground pipes, cables and other structures before work. The location and depth of services can affect how the work is planned. See our terms and conditions for scope, access and liability details.

Before work is arranged

Tell us about protected trees, nearby buildings, overhead cables and restricted access. Permissions and wildlife constraints can affect the scope and timing. Read our planning FAQs for more information.

Request a quote — include your location, photos and a what3words address if possible.

We use both a larger tracked grinder and a smaller machine to suit different jobs and access. The machine and grinding depth are agreed for your site. Watch both machines in our work gallery.
