FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
People often have questions about the logistics of a project or the way we work, and that's absolutely fine. Trees can be valuable assets and represent a significant part of the value of your property, so it's important to trust their care with the right people.
Is the price quoted guaranteed?
Yes. Caledonia Tree Care guarantees the price we initially quote.
What makes trees hazardous?
Trees can develop structural defects, become unstable, or may have damaged or hanging branches – these are among the most hazardous trees. Structural problems are often exhibited at the base or in the upper canopy, so a full inspection is needed to fully evaluate the potential risks to your home and family. Our expert arborist can perform safety inspections, identifying any trees or branches that may pose a threat.
Can I reduce the cost of my job?
Yes. Consider reducing the scope of work to fit your budget, or breaking a job up into phases. Also, some jobs can be done in winter when trees are dormant.
When will my job be arranged?
If it’s an emergency – like a fallen or hazardous tree – we’ll do our best to provide a speedy solution. Arranging non-emergency tree care depends on the size and scale of the job, as well as the season – most jobs are scheduled within 5 days of requesting a quote or callout.
Do I need to be home while you cut my trees?
No, there is no need for homeowners to be present while we perform the work. We work safely to industry best practices to protect your property, and always clean up and remove debris before we leave.
Is CTC fully qualified and insured?
Yes. Caledonia Tree Care meets or exceeds all of the legal requirements for licensing and insurance as required by UK law. All tree work is performed to BS 3998 (2010) and is fully compliant with current arboriculture standards. We hold public liability insurance up to £5m and each member of our team carries appropriate NPTC certification.
Is work carried out safely?
Caledonia Tree Care are tree service professionals with years of experience in the arboriculture, forestry and landscaping industry. Work is performed by our certified arborist, who is highly skilled and always uses best practices to safely remove even the largest of trees.
We always employ common sense and caution when removing trees, branches, stumps and debris, and we never lose sight or respect for the potential danger trees can pose. We also use mats to protect garden lawns and pathways.
Can I keep the cut wood or woodchips?
Yes. We are happy to cut logs and provide woodchips when removing trees or branches, if you’d like. Please let us know when you call to arrange the job as it can affect the price we quote you!
